In case you haven’t noticed (or maybe you got bored and unfollowed me on Instagram – rude), I created my own #30daychallenge. Nope, this doesn’t include cutting out alcohol or working out for 30 days in a row (no gracias to both of those challenges). I only care about how many pictures I can take with a llama / alpaca / baby goat / cholita in 30 days. Really embracing the culture here in Cusco, and not at all ready to leave.
In a few hours, I’ll be packing up my suitcase and saying adios to a continent I never knew that I would fall so in love with. In all my years of traveling, South America had never fully been on my radar. I knew that I wanted to see Machu Picchu, practice my Spanish and find a Latin Lover, but Europe always took priority with my travel plans. Don’t get me wrong, I love Europe but I’m wondering why the hekk it took me so long to get to South America, there are no llamas in Europe! I’ve had a truly unforgettable four months in South America and will 100% be coming back here (just maybe not to La Paz…).
I’ve taken a pretty good series of pictures so far and I fully plan on creating a collage or mural of all of these at the end of the year, or maybe a postcard set. My llove for the llamas has been recognized by my amigos here, and there’s even a short film coming your way in the few weeks featuring yours truly as the lead actress along with my main man Poncho as the lead alpaca. I think I’ve found my new calling, and will be adding this gig to the resume for sure.
And last but not least, Day 30!
Today Poncho and I are saying adios to South America!
See you soon NYC!
One more for ya…
